{"id":106,"date":"2010-03-17T17:15:00","date_gmt":"2010-03-17T17:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carrollmyth.wordpress.com\/?p=106"},"modified":"2010-03-17T17:15:00","modified_gmt":"2010-03-17T17:15:00","slug":"no-one-expects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/contrariwise.info\/blog\/2010\/03\/17\/no-one-expects\/","title":{"rendered":"No One Expects&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/review\/R2YM1XI2D3S052\/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&amp;ASIN=0720613183\">this<\/a> \u2013 a looooong  \u2018review\u2019 of\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/karolineleach.com\/shadow\/thebook.html\">In the Shadow of the Dreamchild<\/a> on Amazon.com, by a guy who really really wants people to think Lewis Carroll was a pedo, and  (following  a long and distinguished tradition) thinks nothing of freely making stuff up or weaselling facts to achieve his aim. He basically recites a lot of generalised stuff about pedophilia, makes up a lot of ways in which it applies to Carroll, and ends up\u00a0 with a nice little suggestion of child abuse:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>What could be Leach&#8217;s motive for writing this book? Could she be seeking revenge against a predator in her own past? Probably.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Classy.<\/p>\n<p>When challenged he claims Carroll hated boys and abandoned his child-friends when they grew up.\u00a0  So, he\u2019s obviously done his research.  Some of the follow-up comments are interesting.
